SUMMARY:Land Art in the Vineyard
DESCRIPTION:As part of its 140th anniversary\, Grm Novo mesto – Center for Biotechnology and Tourism is organising a unique international art and horticultural event at the Šolska zidanica on Trška Gora\, taking place on 13 and 14 May 2026. \nIn collaboration with five European countries\, participants will create interpretations of the typical vineyard landscape of Trška Gora and use materials sourced directly from the vineyard and its immediate surroundings to design large-scale sustainable installations. Alongside students from floristry and horticultural technician programmes\, as well as other interested participants\, renowned florists and land artists from the Netherlands\, Belgium\, Iceland and Croatia will also take part. \nOn 14 May 2026 at 10:00\, the wider public and media are invited to attend and observe the creative process. \nLand art (also known as earth art or environmental art) is an artistic movement that emerged in the 1960s and 1970s\, in which artworks are created directly in nature using natural materials such as soil\, stone\, water and wood.
