DESCRIPTION:The Association for the Development of Voluntary Work Novo Mesto (Društvo za razvijanje prostovoljnega dela Novo mesto) once again invites children to join its popular summer programme\, Children’s World\, where they can develop their imagination through creative workshops\, make unique crafts\, discover a variety of artistic techniques\, and make new friends. The workshops will take place from 1 to 24 July 2026\, every weekday from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon\, in the courtyard of Gostišče na trgu (Glavni trg 30\, Novo Mesto). \nThe programme is designed for children who enjoy being creative\, exploring new ideas\, and spending their summer mornings in a fun and friendly environment. Advance registration is required via otroski.svetdrpd@gmail.com. The participation fee is €2 per child per workshop. \nThis year’s programme offers a wide range of creative activities. During the first week\, children will make a sewn fish\, create a marionette\, and take part in a fun space rocket challenge. The second week includes making a colourful parrot\, a decorative lantern\, sewing a little fox\, crafting a paper ice cream cone\, and creating a diving mask. In the third week\, participants will build a city of skyscrapers\, create an optical illusion animation\, sew animal puppets to form a miniature zoo\, make a woollen avocado\, and design a necklace. The final week features a seashell summer keepsake\, a refreshing summer-themed activity\, a sewn turtle keyring\, a spinning nature craft\, and a fluffy bracelet to round off the programme. \nThe programme is supported by Krka\, d. d.\, Novo mesto\, the Municipality of Novo Mesto\, and Grm Novo Mesto – Centre of Biotechnology and Tourism. \nEvent website.

The group will depart at 5.00 am from the meeting point at Bršljin Primary School. \nAbout the hike \nKepa\, also known as Jepa or by its German name Mittagskogel\, is a scenic mountain in the western Karawanks\, situated on the border ridge between Slovenia and Austria. DESCRIPTION:As part of the Novomeški poletni večeri (Novo mesto Summer Evenings) festival\, Goga Publishing House invites children and families to the puppet performance Absolutely Nothing\, taking place on Saturday\, 18 July 2026\, at 10.00 am. \nABSOLUTELY NOTHING; MIJA KRAMAR\, AJDA BUKOVEC AND IVAN KOKOŠAR / PUPPET PERFORMANCE \nNana is a curious girl who loves exploring and searching for the most beautiful pebbles. One day\, she meets a mysterious little woman who teaches her something very unusual – how to do absolutely nothing! But when large lorries arrive in town and old houses begin to disappear\, Nana decides to use her new secret in a very special way. \nA warm and playful story about friendship\, courage and the idea that sometimes “nothing” can be the greatest magic of all.
