DESCRIPTION:The Miran Jarc Library Novo mesto invites you to a lecture The Underwater Kingdom in the Land of the Pharaohs\, which will take place on Thursday\, 16 April 2026\, at 6:00 pm in the Trdina Reading Room. \nThe guest speaker will be Andrej Voje\, an underwater photographer and filmmaker\, who will present the magical world beneath the surface of the Red Sea through film. The main character is a turtle\, which narrates the story and guides us through colourful coral reefs\, introducing its many companions\, their lives\, and their fate. \nThe film explores relationships between fish that gather in large schools around coral reefs or travel alone along them\, the interactions among vividly coloured fish that are active during the day and hide from predators at night\, and the connections between fish and other creatures living in symbiosis. \nIn recent times\, however\, the balance and harmony of this underwater kingdom have become increasingly threatened. They are endangered by beings that enter this world in ever greater numbers and interfere with it more and more aggressively. Will the fragile balance of the coral reef be preserved\, or will life gradually disappear\, leaving behind only a pale memory of a once magnificent underwater world? \nThe lecture will be held in Slovenian. \nEvent website.
