DESCRIPTION:Miran Jarc Library Novo mesto\, together with the Croatian Cultural Association\, invites you to a lecture by Bruno Šimleša\, How to Achieve Better Health and Relationships. \nBruno Šimleša is the author of 12 books\, nine of which have been translated into Slovenian. Among his most well-known works are Ljubeznoslovje and Šola življenja\, in which he explores how to create a healthy relationship with oneself and/or others. Recently\, he has been focusing on the topic of health\, exploring how our psyche and relationships affect our well-being. DESCRIPTION:Together with Spominčica Alzheimer Slovenia and Spominčica of Dolenjska and Novo Mesto\, we invite you to a lecture by Dr Božidar Voljč\, MD\, on the topic of a comprehensive approach to dementia care in the local community. The lecture will take place at the Miran Jarc Library in Novo Mesto on Wednesday\, 18 February 2026\, at 1.00 pm. \nDr Božidar Voljč will speak about the challenges of an ageing society and the increasing prevalence of dementia\, which represents a major social and socio-healthcare challenge for municipal leaders\, public institutions\, organisations and families. You will learn what a comprehensive approach to dementia care is\, its purpose and objectives\, and how to develop integrated care for people living with dementia at the municipal level and through regional partnerships. In particular\, he will explain what needs to be included in comprehensive care if we are to speak of a dementia-friendly local environment. SUMMARY:Lecture: Meta Vrhunc – The Hidden Effects of Biodynamically Produced Food
DESCRIPTION:Together with the Ajda Dolenjska Biodynamic Association\, you are invited to a lecture on the biodynamic method of food production\, internationally recognised as producing food of the highest quality. The lecture will take place at the Miran Jarc Library in Novo Mesto on Wednesday\, 18 February 2026\, at 5.00 pm. \nBiodynamically produced food is grown without synthetic fertilisers or pesticides and is typically based on open-pollinated seeds. In caring for the health of the soil and plants\, biodynamic farmers use special preparations that help plants connect more deeply with the energies of the Earth and the cosmos\, while prepared compost ensures the soil is more intensely infused with vitality. The biodynamic method was founded by the philosopher and scientist Dr Rudolf Steiner in 1924 and is now practised worldwide. \nMeta Vrhunc\, an economist and translator\, has been working for over 40 years to bring Steiner’s legacy of caring for soil fertility and producing food essential for human development to Slovenia. She is also the initiator and co-founder of the Ajda Biodynamic Association and the long-standing president of its parent organisation in Vrzdenc. \nThe lecture will be held in Slovenian. \nEvent website
