DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, 14 May 2026\, from 12 noon onwards\, Hiša Fink will host the unique wine and culinary event The Dolenjska Sparkling Wine Route\, bringing together outstanding winemakers from the Dolenjska region\, carefully selected cuisine\, and memorable experiences by the Krka River. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe event will begin at 12 noon with activities by the Krka River\, including complimentary rides on electric SUP boards. From 3 pm onwards\, guests will enjoy a wine and culinary gathering featuring sparkling wines and thoughtfully prepared dishes made from local ingredients. Culinary highlights will include Krškopolje pork by Hiša Fink\, alongside guest gastronomic partners offering selected delicacies such as Jolanda de Colò Venetian oysters\, Memon prosciutto\, and Vito Maccheroni pasta. \nThe event is based on an open tasting concept. Upon arrival\, visitors will receive a sparkling wine glass and will then use tokens to choose from a variety of food and drink tasting courses. DESCRIPTION:The Miran Jarc Library Novo mesto invites you to a film screening and discussion titled Jurij Kure – Athlete\, Craftsman and Fighter Against Parkinson’s Disease\, which will take place on Wednesday\, 13 May 2026\, at 18:00 in the Event Atrium. \nJurij Kure was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2012. As health challenges followed\, his life changed significantly. He turned to craftsmanship\, creating wooden products\, for which he received the Art&Craft Slovenia and Bela Krajina craftsmanship certificates. Since his primary school years\, he has also played table tennis\, which he describes as “his life\, therapy and relaxation”. He has achieved a number of notable sporting successes\, including three national titles among players with Parkinson’s disease. He has also competed four times at the PingPongParkinson World Championships\, winning a bronze medal in singles (Lignano\, 2025) and a silver medal in doubles (Laško\, 2024). \nA 20-minute documentary film about him\, titled Our Jurček\, presents his life story. DESCRIPTION:As part of its 140th anniversary\, Grm Novo mesto – Center for Biotechnology and Tourism is organising a unique international art and horticultural event at the Šolska zidanica on Trška Gora\, taking place on 13 and 14 May 2026. \nIn collaboration with five European countries\, participants will create interpretations of the typical vineyard landscape of Trška Gora and use materials sourced directly from the vineyard and its immediate surroundings to design large-scale sustainable installations. DESCRIPTION:The Novo mesto Hiking Society invites participants to a hike to Tosc\, which will take place on Sunday\, 10 May 2026\, with departure at 6.00 am from Bršljin Primary School in Novo mesto. \nRoute description:This hike will start in front of the military barracks at Rudno Polje. The route will partly follow a marked trail leading towards Triglav. Initially\, the path leads through the forest above the Konjščica pasture up to Jezerce. From there\, the ascent continues to the Studor Saddle\, and the route proceeds towards Vodnik Lodge. Shortly after\, hikers will reach a junction where they turn right towards the summit; from this point onwards\, the trail is unmarked. \nA steep ascent leads to the ridge of Tosc\, and only a short walk across a grassy slope remains to reach the summit itself. On the descent\, the group will also visit the Konjščica pasture. The hike will take approximately 7 hours of walking time\, with a total elevation gain of just over 900 metres. \nEvent website.

All items should be prepared for reuse\, and each visitor may bring up to one bag of clothing. \nThe programme will also include creative workshops for different age groups. Children will be able to participate in the “Colourful Bags” workshop\, where they will create unique tote bags from used clothing. The “Wear Stories\, Not Just Clothes (MORJA Zala)” workshop will focus on upcycling old garments into new\, personalised pieces. There will also be a “Triftarina” workshop with Katarina Zuccato\, offering an introduction to sustainable shopping. \nA pop-up corner will feature Slovenian creators\, including Morja Zala\, Rado Krštinc\, Miha Grulja (Fungalist)\, Andraž Grulja (Stitchuation)\, Špela Malenšek\, Anja Slapničar Ceramics\, Goodwill\, Bekswear\, Anida (Anita Miklavčič) and Gudi studio. \nFood and drinks will be available throughout the day\, contributing to a relaxed social atmosphere. DESCRIPTION:You are invited to the 1st Dolenjska Brevet\, Cycling Through Dolenjska\, which will take place on Saturday\, 9 May 2026\, between 9:00 and 19:00\, with the start and finish at the Main Square in Novo mesto. \nThis cycling experience connects 12 municipalities in the Dolenjska region included in the cycling guide Cycling Through Dolenjska (S kolesom po Dolenjski): Novo mesto\, Šentjernej\, Šmarješke Toplice\, Škocjan\, Mokronog-Trebelno\, Mirna\, Šentrupert\, Trebnje\, Žužemberk\, Mirna Peč\, Straža and Dolenjske Toplice.The route is just over 200 km long and includes approximately 2\,500 metres of elevation gain. It is composed of sections that are already part of the cycling guide. \nThe ride is designed so that individuals can join for the entire route or only a selected section. Two groups are planned: a faster group (brevet\, 200 km) and a slower (touring) group. SUMMARY:MTB Jump Workshop: From First Jumps to Aerial Tricks
DESCRIPTION:The Zverinice Cycling Club is organising an intensive MTB workshop\, which will take place on Saturday\, 9 May 2026\, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Novo mesto. \nThe workshop is designed to improve riding technique\, teach jumping skills\, and introduce both basic and advanced tricks. Participants will gradually build their skills\, starting with fundamental exercises on flat ground and progressing to safe jumping on ramps and features. \nThe programme includes theoretical foundations of bike movement\, practice of key elements such as the bunny hop\, and hands-on training on terrain. More experienced participants will also be introduced to tricks such as whips\, jump control\, and basic aerial techniques. \nThe workshop will be led by Tevž Turk\, a young freestyle and slopestyle rider from the Dolenjska region\, who will share techniques for safe jumping\, proper progression\, and correcting common mistakes. \nParticipants must bring a technically sound mountain bike\, a helmet\, and cycling gloves. SUMMARY:Walk Along the Slak Trail
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, 9 May 2026\, you are invited to the 13th Walk Along the Slak Trail\, which takes place every year along the permanently marked Slak Trail on Trška Gora near Novo Mesto. The walk is dedicated to the memory of Lojze Slak\, a virtuoso of the button accordion from the Dolenjska region and a legend of Slovenian folk-pop music. \nThe route is circular\, clearly marked\, easy\, and 7.5 km long. \nThe walk starts and finishes at the Grm Agricultural School (Sevno 13\, Novo Mesto). \nPROGRAMME\n\nregistration of participants from 8.00 onwards at the Grm Agricultural School\ngroup start at 9.00\nrefreshment on Trška Gora from 10.00 to 11.00\ncultural programme on Trška Gora at the Lojze Slak memorial or at the church at 11.00 / Ensemble GLAS\nlunch at the Grm Agricultural School from 12.00 onwards\nFestival of accordion groups\, organised by the Tourist Association of Dolenjska and Bela Krajina\, from 13.30 onwards\n\nROUTE: Grm Agricultural School – Vinotoč Teropšič – Trška Gora at the church (refreshment) – Slak’s Vineyard Cottage – TKD Trškogorsko srce and Verček Vineyard Cottage – School Vineyard Cottage of the Grm Agricultural School – Grm Agricultural School (lunch) \nThe entry fee is EUR 25.00 per person. SUMMARY:Nature Conservation Excursion along the Koželjeva Trail in Kamniška Bistrica
DESCRIPTION:The Novo mesto Hiking Society invites participants to a nature conservation excursion along the Koželjeva Trail in Kamniška Bistrica\, which will take place on Saturday\, 9 May 2026\, with departure at 7.00 am from Planet Tuš Novo mesto. \nTrail description:This excursion will be dedicated to water as the source of life. Without water\, life on Earth would not exist\, which is why it is essential to protect its cleanliness and preserve water resources\, especially drinking water. Water also plays an important economic role. Its power will be experienced along the Koželjeva Trail\, as a recent natural disaster caused significant damage in the Kamniška Bistrica valley. The hike itself is not demanding and is suitable for all age groups\, with approximately three hours of walking. \nAs part of the trail (from the quarry to the lower station) is currently closed and impassable due to the recent weather event\, this section will be omitted. Throughout the hike\, participants will be accompanied by the sound of the Kamniška Bistrica River\, waterfalls\, rapids\, newly leafed forest\, and fresh air. \nEvent website.
