SUMMARY:Tour of Slovenia 2026
DESCRIPTION:Between 17 and 21 June 2026\, Slovenia will once again host one of the country’s biggest sporting events – the 32nd Tour of Slovenia cycling race. The five-day stage race\, considered an important part of the international cycling season\, will once again connect numerous Slovenian towns and attract top domestic and international cyclists to Slovenian roads. \nA special highlight of the race programme is traditionally the final\, 5th stage\, which will finish in Novo mesto on Sunday\, 21 June 2026. The stage will run from Litija to Novo mesto and will cover 162.1 kilometres. Organisers emphasise that the route will be technically demanding and exciting\, with opportunities for breakaways in the first part and a decisive finish over Trška gora\, which has become a trademark of the race finale in recent years. \nThe finish line will once again be located at Glavni trg in Novo mesto\, where the overall winner of this year’s Tour of Slovenia will be crowned. Novo mesto holds a special place in the history of the race\, as it has most frequently hosted stage starts or finishes – the town has welcomed as many as 38 stage finishes to date. \nThe finale in Novo mesto is accompanied every year by an outstanding atmosphere\, with numerous visitors and fans enjoying not only the sporting spectacle\, but also the vibrant spirit of the Dolenjska capital\, its wine tradition\, and its hospitality. DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, 20 June 2026\, Young Styles Battle 13\, one of the largest and most established youth breaking events in the Balkans\, will take place in Novo mesto\, organised by Plesni Studio Novo mesto. Following a series of successful editions\, the event returns for its thirteenth year and is once again expected to attract young dancers from Slovenia and abroad. \nThe competition will run from 11:30 am to 7:00 pm at Kočevarjeva 9\, Novo mesto. Participants will compete in the 1 vs 1 Under 14\, 1 vs 1 Open and 3 vs 3 Open categories. A total prize fund of €900 has been allocated for the top competitors\, while all registered participants will receive an official event T-shirt\, a diploma and practical prizes. \nThe judging panel will consist of Manuel “Bboy Alister” from Italy\, Luka “Bboy Lux De Lux” from Croatia and Urkius from the Slovenian crew Bastarts Crew. The central theme of this year’s edition is the Slovenian music scene – artists and bands that have been shaping the rich musical landscape of Novo Mesto and Slovenia for decades\, alongside a younger generation of musicians proudly and successfully carrying this legacy forward. The new Novo Mesto wave is singing louder than ever before. \nThe festival will open with an evening of nostalgia and a tribute to Novo Mesto’s musical history\, as well as the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Rock Otočec festival. Performances will feature Slon in Cvet je v jeseni and Generacija Rudolfovo with selected guest artists\, who will also perform songs by the legendary Novo Mesto band. The evening will also include a preview of an exhibition dedicated to Rock Otočec. \nThe programme will continue with concerts by the contemporary folk ensemble Bakalina Velika\, the Janez Dovč Sounds of Slovenia Quartet with modern arrangements of Slovenian folk songs\, local emerging acts Plateau and Martina ET AL. as part of the biennial Festival of New Novo Mesto Music\, the ethno-rock band Ana Pupedan from Pivka\, a performance by the timeless Avtomobili featuring Marko and Mirko Vuksanović\, and the closing concert by Bort Ross and Nomadi with guests\, bringing the festival to an end in their distinctive melodic style. \nAll events\, with the exception of the final concert at the Museum Gardens\, are free of charge.
