DESCRIPTION:The Novo mesto Hiking Association invites you to take part in the 4th hike along the Knafelc Trail\, which will take place on Saturday\, 28th February 2026\, starting at 8:00 a.m. \nThe hike is dedicated to Alojz Knafelc\, the creator of the Slovenian mountain trail marking. At the same time\, it is a tribute to our town — Novo mesto and its surroundings — whose beautiful landscape offers a wonderful hiking experience. \nDEPARTURE:At 8:00 a.m. from Rotovž (Town Hall) at Glavni trg\, following the Knafelc Trail route. \nROUTE:We will begin the hike in front of Rotovž (Town Hall\, Glavni trg 7) at the Kette Fountain at 8:00 a.m. We will continue past the memorial to Alojz Knafelc on Pugljeva Street and proceed to the pedestrian and cycling footbridge Loka–Kandija\, where we will cross the River Krka. The route will then take us to Šmihel and to the birthplace of Alojz Knafelc at Smrečnikova 63\, followed by Grm Castle and past the Evangelical Church on Trdinova Street.At Kandija Bridge\, we will be greeted by the monument to Olympic champion Leon Štukelj. We will cross the River Krka again via the Ragovo Bridge and continue towards Stari Grad Castle near Otočec and the Kobila Waterfall\, passing Becelet Cave in Zagrad near Otočec. The trail then leads past the vineyard cottage of composer Marjan Kozina. We will ascend to the Church of the Nativity of Mary on Trška Gora (428 m)\, where a monument to Lojze Slak is located. Passing Slak’s vineyard cottage and the French Wayside Shrine (“plague shrine”) at Mestne njive\, we will return to Novo mesto through part of the Kette Tree Avenue. Shortly before the end of the route\, a beautiful viewpoint awaits us at the Chapter Church\, where a viewing tower is also located.The hike will last at least 6 hours. At the start of the hike\, participants will receive a card for collecting stamps as proof of participation. SUMMARY:The 7 Waterfalls Trail Hike
DESCRIPTION:The Pohodniško društvo Novo mesto invites everyone\, especially young hiking enthusiasts and nature lovers\, to join us once again across the border to Croatia\, this time to Istria. We are heading to Buzet\, which will be the starting point of the circular 7 Waterfalls Trail through the canyon of the Mirna River and Draga. Our activity is supported by the Municipality of Novo mesto. \nDEPARTURE: We will meet at 6:00 AM at OŠ Bršljin. From there\, we will travel to Buzet\, our starting point for a beautiful and memorable hike. \nHIKE: We will begin our tour in the gorge of the Mirna River\, where the water has created lakes\, rapids\, and pools\, with the waterfalls being the most beautiful feature. Each of the seven waterfalls is unique\, and the third waterfall stands out the most with its 26 meters. This is also where the trail stamp is located. We continue into the Buzet Canyon\, which also features a climbing area. A steeper ascent follows\, assisted by pegs and steel cables. After visiting the fourth waterfall\, the trail will lead us to Napoleonov most (Napoleon’s Bridge)\, past abandoned villages to the hamlet of Kotlje\, where there are pools\, an abandoned mill\, and the fifth waterfall. Not far ahead\, the final two waterfalls follow. The entire circular route is 15 km long and not technically demanding. We will need approximately 6 to 7 hours of moderate walking with breaks to complete the route. The planned return to Novo mesto is in the late afternoon. \nENVIRONMENTAL GUIDELINES: During the hike\, we will make every effort to carry our waste back home\, avoid causing damage to nature\, and not disturb forest animals with noise. \nEQUIPMENT: You will need warm clothing\, a hat\, gloves\, and good footwear – hiking boots are recommended – as well as personal equipment. Do not forget your ID and hiking logbook. Hiking poles are also recommended. In case of higher water levels\, it may be necessary to remove boots when crossing the river\, so sandals or flip-flops and a small towel would be useful. \nFOOD: Please bring your own food and drinks in your backpack. \nPRICE: Youth – members €25\, non-members €30. DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, March 7\, we will celebrate International Women’s Day with culinary treats\, healing music\, and activation of feminine power. The event will take place in Novo mesto at 5:00 PM. \nRegister via email: matejakelih@gmail.com \nPrice: €44 \nBelow are a few words about the event from our Mateja: \nFirst\, we will deeply relax to the healing\, gentle\, caressing sounds of the handpan played by music therapist Maruša Juvanc. During this time\, we will activate our inner worth through a guided meditation led by Mateja Kelih\, a mentor and therapist for women. As we release unconscious blocks that make us feel too small\, not good enough\, not beautiful\, worthy\, visible\, or heard… we will then be pampered by culinary master Petra Seničar – Peggy with savory snacks and sinfully delicious desserts — because on this day\, you are not cooking! \nOn this day\, we celebrate women! \nMaruša – a social worker who works as a qualified music therapist in schools and elsewhere. She is a mother of three and occasionally hosts music workshops for children. She is a warm\, loving person who gently opens a space of peace\, softness\, and deep inner connection with her handpan. \nMateja – a therapist\, coach\, and mentor for women. She also works as a craniosacral therapist and in recent years has focused primarily on transforming women\, with the desire that all women step into their worth\, connect with themselves\, and walk the path of love and devotion — creating from that place the life they truly desire. Her meditations are healing and incredibly powerful. \nPetra – pampered us last year at a retreat in Koštabona\, and all participants can confirm that the food was divine\, healthy\, and nourishing. She creates under the brand Slaščice Peggy as a master of plant-based desserts. She makes cakes and other treats to order\, organizes workshops for children and adults\, and collaborates at events throughout Slovenia.a
