The event will take place on Tuesday\, 21 April 2026\, at 6:00 pm in the Event Atrium. \nIn his book\, the author explores current trends in technological development and evaluates them through legal\, ethical\, and social perspectives. He addresses key issues of the digital age\, such as online law and moral standards in digital environments\, digital violence\, the ethics of artificial intelligence\, the status of digital agents\, and the internal structure of online and virtual worlds. \nThe book tackles concrete challenges of the digital era\, including the rise of often overlooked online violence\, insufficient or ambiguous internet regulation\, and the complex socio-political issues brought about by rapid technological change in a time when knowledge\, truth\, and values are increasingly relativised. DESCRIPTION:On the occasion of World Earth Day and the accompanying exhibition Prof. Ferdinand Seidl. 170th Anniversary of His Birth\, Dolenjski muzej Novo mesto\, in cooperation with the Slovensko meteorološko društvo\, invites you to a lecture titled “On the Laws of Weather Phenomena and Weather Forecasting”. \nThe lecture will take place on Wednesday\, 22 April 2026\, at 6:00 p.m. in the lecture hall of the Dolenjski Museum Novo mesto. The speaker will be Miha Hadl. \nThe accompanying exhibition dedicated to the Novo mesto-born natural scientist Ferdinand Seidl offers insight into his life and work. Seidl established himself as a geologist\, seismologist\, and meteorologist\, and also worked in the fields of botany\, nature conservation\, and sociology. This lecture will focus on his contribution to meteorology\, as he laid the foundations of modern meteorology and climatology in Slovenia. \nThe lecturer\, Miha Hadl\, is a university graduate engineer of meteorology and physics. He has been employed as a physics teacher at the Novo mesto Grammar School since 1982 and is a member of the Slovene Meteorological Society. DESCRIPTION:The Janez Trdina Cultural Centre invites you to the opening of the exhibition Generations\, presenting the work of students from the Higher Vocational School – Media Production Engineer Programme at the Economic School Novo mesto\, which will take place at Galerija Kocka on Monday\, 27 April 2026. \nThe exhibition Generations showcases posters created by students of the Media Production Engineer programme. The works were produced over a period spanning from the COVID-19 pandemic to the present day. Although the posters were originally created for various competitions\, several recurring characteristics can be observed\, such as the use of vector graphics and a tendency towards minimalism. \nBeneath the formal surface of the posters\, the works reveal young individuals growing up into uncertain independence amid epidemiological\, economic\, and geopolitical realities. \nThe exhibition is a co-production of Prospectus Institute and Galerija Kocka. \nThe exhibition will be on view until 10 May 2026. \nEvent website

SUMMARY:Hike: Novo mesto Encircled by Barbed Wire
DESCRIPTION:In 2026\, 85 years will have passed since the establishment of the Liberation Front\, the central resistance and political organisation of the Slovenes during the Second World War. It led the Slovenian national liberation struggle and\, together with the Allies\, defeated the Nazi-Fascist occupiers\, laying the foundations of Slovenian statehood. \nThe public holiday\, Resistance Day Against the Occupier\, will once again be marked by the traditional commemorative hike Novo mesto Encircled by Barbed Wire (Novo mesto v žici)\, organised by the KO ZB NOB Drska. \nThe route follows part of the line along which the occupiers surrounded Novo mesto during the Second World War\, building fortified bunkers\, digging firing trenches\, and restricting the movement of residents with barbed wire. \nThe hike will take place on Monday\, 27 April 2026\, starting from three locations in Novo mesto: \n\n7:30 am – Žabja vas (NOB monument on Drejčeva pot)\,\n8:00 am – Drska (bunker)\,\n9:00 am – Ločna (near the cemetery).\n\nThe hike will conclude at 11:00 am at Pumpnca (Župančič Promenade\, Novo mesto)\, where the Resistance Day Against the Occupier will also be commemorated. \nThe memorial-recreational trail Novo mesto Encircled by Barbed Wire was established in remembrance of the period of occupation during the Second World War\, and in honour of all fallen fighters\, executed hostages\, and other deceased residents. \nParticipation is at one’s own risk. \nThe event will be held in Slovene. \nEvent website

The walk is dedicated to the memory of Lojze Slak\, a virtuoso of the button accordion from the Dolenjska region and a legend of Slovenian folk-pop music. \nThe route is circular\, clearly marked\, easy\, and 7.5 km long. \nThe walk starts and finishes at the Grm Agricultural School (Sevno 13\, Novo Mesto). \nPROGRAMME\n\nregistration of participants from 8.00 onwards at the Grm Agricultural School\ngroup start at 9.00\nrefreshment on Trška Gora from 10.00 to 11.00\ncultural programme on Trška Gora at the Lojze Slak memorial or at the church at 11.00 / Ensemble GLAS\nlunch at the Grm Agricultural School from 12.00 onwards\nFestival of accordion groups\, organised by the Tourist Association of Dolenjska and Bela Krajina\, from 13.30 onwards\n\nROUTE: Grm Agricultural School – Vinotoč Teropšič – Trška Gora at the church (refreshment) – Slak’s Vineyard Cottage – TKD Trškogorsko srce and Verček Vineyard Cottage – School Vineyard Cottage of the Grm Agricultural School – Grm Agricultural School (lunch) \nThe entry fee is EUR 25.00 per person. All registered participants receive a neck pouch and a glass\, a voucher for refreshments and lunch\, and a commemorative CD of the walk. Food and drinks at the stops are available freely without vouchers\, except for the refreshment and lunch.
