DESCRIPTION:The Janez Trdina Cultural Centre (KCJT) is once again inviting audiences to its Summer Film Evenings\, a popular series of free open-air film screenings. Throughout July and August\, the square in front of the Cultural Centre will be transformed into a charming outdoor cinema\, where visitors can enjoy a carefully selected programme of high-quality Slovenian and European arthouse films under the stars. \nScreenings will take place every Tuesday and Thursday at 9.00 pm\, with the exception of 18–24 August\, when they will pause for the Jazzinty Festival. DESCRIPTION:RTC Gače once again invites visitors to the trail running experience Gas na Gače\, set in the heart of the Kočevski Rog forests\, taking place on Saturday\, 4 July 2026\, in Gače above Črmošnjice. The event combines sport\, recreation\, nature\, and an authentic experience of the Kočevski Rog region\, and is intended for experienced runners\, hikers\, and the youngest visitors alike. \nThe main event is a 15-kilometre trail run with 700 metres of elevation gain\, leading participants along diverse forest trails and through the scenic landscape surrounding Gače. The new Novo Mesto wave is singing louder than ever before. \nThe festival will open with an evening of nostalgia and a tribute to Novo Mesto’s musical history\, as well as the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Rock Otočec festival. Performances will feature Slon in Cvet je v jeseni and Generacija Rudolfovo with selected guest artists\, who will also perform songs by the legendary Novo Mesto band. The evening will also include a preview of an exhibition dedicated to Rock Otočec. \nThe programme will continue with concerts by the contemporary folk ensemble Bakalina Velika\, the Janez Dovč Sounds of Slovenia Quartet with modern arrangements of Slovenian folk songs\, local emerging acts Plateau and Martina ET AL. as part of the biennial Festival of New Novo Mesto Music\, the ethno-rock band Ana Pupedan from Pivka\, a performance by the timeless Avtomobili featuring Marko and Mirko Vuksanović\, and the closing concert by Bort Ross and Nomadi with guests\, bringing the festival to an end in their distinctive melodic style. \nAll events\, with the exception of the final concert at the Museum Gardens\, are free of charge. SUMMARY:10th Metropola Cup Five-a-Side Football Tournament
DESCRIPTION:The Šentpeter–Otočec Sports Association\, in cooperation with Šentpeter Football Club\, invites all football enthusiasts to the 10th Metropola Cup Five-a-Side Football Tournament\, which will take place on Saturday\, 11 July 2026\, starting at 10:00 am on the asphalt pitch at Otočec Primary School. \nAt this anniversary tournament\, teams will compete in a 4+1 format (four outfield players and a goalkeeper). Approximately twelve teams are expected to participate\, divided into four groups. The top two teams from each group will progress to the knockout stage. The tournament will continue with the quarter-finals\, semi-finals\, the third-place play-off and the final. Should more teams register\, the organiser will adjust the competition format accordingly. \nThe top four teams will receive trophies\, while individual awards will also be presented to the Best Player\, Top Goalscorer and Best Goalkeeper. In addition\, a selection of attractive practical prizes will be awarded. \nAlongside the football action\, visitors can enjoy music\, food and refreshments throughout the day. The walk promotes an active lifestyle\, strengthens the bonds between students and celebrates their connection to Novo mesto\, symbolically marking their journey home after a successful academic year. \nThe highlight of the event will take place on Saturday\, 11 July 2026\, at 7.00 pm in the Main Square (Glavni trg) in Novo mesto\, where walkers from all three routes will receive a warm welcome from visitors and supporters.
