SUMMARY:Land Art in the Vineyard
DESCRIPTION:As part of its 140th anniversary\, Grm Novo mesto – Center for Biotechnology and Tourism is organising a unique international art and horticultural event at the Šolska zidanica on Trška Gora\, taking place on 13 and 14 May 2026. \nIn collaboration with five European countries\, participants will create interpretations of the typical vineyard landscape of Trška Gora and use materials sourced directly from the vineyard and its immediate surroundings to design large-scale sustainable installations. Alongside students from floristry and horticultural technician programmes\, as well as other interested participants\, renowned florists and land artists from the Netherlands\, Belgium\, Iceland and Croatia will also take part. \nOn 14 May 2026 at 10:00\, the wider public and media are invited to attend and observe the creative process. \nLand art (also known as earth art or environmental art) is an artistic movement that emerged in the 1960s and 1970s\, in which artworks are created directly in nature using natural materials such as soil\, stone\, water and wood. DESCRIPTION:The Novo mesto Hiking Society invites participants to a hike to Tosc\, which will take place on Sunday\, 10 May 2026\, with departure at 6.00 am from Bršljin Primary School in Novo mesto. \nRoute description:This hike will start in front of the military barracks at Rudno Polje. The route will partly follow a marked trail leading towards Triglav. Initially\, the path leads through the forest above the Konjščica pasture up to Jezerce. From there\, the ascent continues to the Studor Saddle\, and the route proceeds towards Vodnik Lodge. Shortly after\, hikers will reach a junction where they turn right towards the summit; from this point onwards\, the trail is unmarked. \nA steep ascent leads to the ridge of Tosc\, and only a short walk across a grassy slope remains to reach the summit itself. On the descent\, the group will also visit the Konjščica pasture. The hike will take approximately 7 hours of walking time\, with a total elevation gain of just over 900 metres. \nEvent website.

They are stories about Luka Dončić\, Andre Agassi\, Petra Majdič and Simone Biles—about exceptional\, inspiring\, trapped and broken individuals. A long-time sports journalist\, Jerič approaches sport from a personal perspective—both through the eyes of a child who once dreamed of becoming a sports star\, and as a father of a young athlete for whom he does not wish a professional sports career. DESCRIPTION:As part of the Transformator programme\, the organisers invite you to the HORECA DIGI workshop titled How to eliminate manual work and reduce operational costs through digitalisation in hospitality or tourism businesses. \nThe workshop will take place in person on Thursday\, 7 May 2026\, from 17:00 to 19:00 in the meeting room of Zavod Novo mesto (KCJT building)\, or online via Zoom. \nManaging a modern hospitality or tourism business without accurate data presents unnecessary risk and may lead to profit loss. Participants who are still facing a high share of manual work\, lack of transparency in resource consumption\, and limited control over processes will gain practical insights into effective digital solutions at this expert session within the Transformator programme. \nRather than focusing on general theory\, the workshop addresses practical approaches to key business challenges:\n• Digitalisation and automation: using technology to reduce manual work and minimise human error.• Data-driven management: effective monitoring of resource consumption and identifying opportunities for cost savings.• Value chain optimisation: improving collaboration between providers and suppliers while reducing losses on both sides.• Modern operational technologies: the role of advanced tools in enhancing services and managing the entire business ecosystem. \nA special expert segment will focus on energy and cost optimisation. Guest speaker Tina Štrukelj (Infinite Pure Solutions) will present how small and medium-sized tourism enterprises can reduce costs by monitoring the time dynamics of energy consumption.
