Literary Event: An Evening Dedicated to Manca Košir
The Miran Jarc Library Novo mesto invites you to a commemorative evening dedicated to the journalist, publicist and reading advocate Manca Košir. The event will take place on Thursday, 7 May 2026, at 18:00 in the Event Atrium.
The evening’s guests will be Žiga Valetič, curator of her literary legacy, and Tatjana Zorko, cardiologist, psychotherapist and Manca’s friend. Together, they will reflect on Manca, books and reading, while the programme will also feature readings of her poetry and excerpts from her works.
Visitors will also learn more about the book Butterflies Know the Power of Words, published posthumously. The selection of texts was prepared by Valetič and includes a collection of essays, columns and reflections by Manca Košir, revealing—through personal and social experience—the importance of reading, language and human connection.
The discussion will be moderated by Carmen L. Oven.
The event is organised in cooperation with the Slovenian Hospic Society.
