Exhibition Opening: Rock Otočec – A Piece of Paradise

The Dolenjski Museum invites visitors to the opening of an exhibition dedicated to the legendary Rock Otočec festival, taking place on Saturday, 20 June 2026, at 8.00 pm.
During the Summer Museum Night, the Dolenjska Museum in Novo mesto will open an exhibition entitled Rock Otočec – A Piece of Paradise, presenting Slovenia’s most influential rock festival – one remembered by generations of Slovenians.
The exhibition opening will be followed by a guided tour, a music programme, and creative workshops. It promises to be a rock-themed summer evening filled with nostalgia and memories in the idyllic setting of the museum gardens.
The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the story of one of Slovenia’s most recognisable music festivals, which played a significant role in shaping the country’s rock culture and festival scene. Through photographs, posters, objects, archival materials and personal memories, visitors will be able to relive the energy, atmosphere and unforgettable moments of a festival that brought together music lovers from across Slovenia for decades.
The exhibition presents highlights from the earliest concerts to the festival’s greatest moments, while also offering insight into the social and cultural significance of Rock Otočec and its influence on the Slovenian music scene.
The exhibition will be on display from 20 June 2026 to 8 February 2027.
The exhibition is intended both for those wishing to revisit memories of festival days and for younger generations interested in discovering an important chapter of Slovenian music history.
