16th Mayor’s Charity Tennis Tournament
In September, the courts of Portovald Tennis Club will once again welcome tennis enthusiasts and supporters of a good cause. The Mayor’s Charity Tennis Tournament (Dobrodelni županov teniški turnir), which has over the years become one of the best-known charity events in the municipality, will be held for the 16th time this year on Saturday, 12 September 2026, at the Portovald Tennis Club courts.
Since its beginnings, the tournament has brought together sport and solidarity. Every year, the funds raised are donated to an individual or family from the municipality facing difficult circumstances. Over the years, the tournament has raised tens of thousands of euros in support.
This year, the funds raised will be donated to local resident Mojca Bohte, who is facing a challenging health situation. Through donations and a raffle, funds will be raised towards the purchase of an adapted vehicle for people with disabilities, which will make her everyday life easier.
In addition to the tennis matches, the tournament will feature a varied accompanying programme, including an opening ceremony, a raffle and the opportunity to make donations at the event.
