Opening of Ciril Horjak’s Comic Exhibition: King Ubu
The Dolenjska Museum invites visitors to the opening of King Ubu, a comic exhibition by the acclaimed Slovenian comic artist, illustrator and cartoonist Ciril Horjak, also known by the pseudonym Dr Horowitz. The exhibition will open on Friday, 10 July 2026, at 20:00 in the Small Hall of the Dolenjski Museum Novo mesto.
The exhibition presents the graphic novel King Ubu, based on the renowned play by the French writer Alfred Jarry. Ciril Horjak is one of Slovenia’s leading comic artists and illustrators. His work has been published in numerous Slovenian and international publications, including prestigious newspapers such as The Guardian, Le Monde and the Chicago Tribune. In 2024, he received the Prešeren Fund Award in recognition of his outstanding creative achievements in the field of comics.
The exhibition will remain on display until 11 October 2026.
