Nature Conservation Excursion along the Koželjeva Trail in Kamniška Bistrica
The Novo mesto Hiking Society invites participants to a nature conservation excursion along the Koželjeva Trail in Kamniška Bistrica, which will take place on Saturday, 9 May 2026, with departure at 7.00 am from Planet Tuš Novo mesto.
Trail description:
This excursion will be dedicated to water as the source of life. Without water, life on Earth would not exist, which is why it is essential to protect its cleanliness and preserve water resources, especially drinking water. Water also plays an important economic role. Its power will be experienced along the Koželjeva Trail, as a recent natural disaster caused significant damage in the Kamniška Bistrica valley. The hike itself is not demanding and is suitable for all age groups, with approximately three hours of walking.
As part of the trail (from the quarry to the lower station) is currently closed and impassable due to the recent weather event, this section will be omitted. Throughout the hike, participants will be accompanied by the sound of the Kamniška Bistrica River, waterfalls, rapids, newly leafed forest, and fresh air.
