Memorial Ride in Honour of Branko Turk
The Association for the Development and Preservation of the Countryside Orehek invites you to a memorial motorcycle ride in honour of Branko Turk, a friend, colleague, and a person who left a strong impression and many cherished memories. The memorial ride will take place on Monday, 1 June 2026, from 8:00 to 14:00.
Participants and motorcyclists will gather at 8:00 at the cemetery in Veliki Slatnik. After a shared morning gathering and coffee, the participants will set off on a planned ride through the Dolenjska region and its wider surroundings.
The route will lead from Veliki Slatnik towards Šentjernej, where it will turn in Struga towards Otočec and continue past the castle towards Kronovo, Šmarjeta, Zbure, and Mokronog. From there, the route will continue via Lakovnice towards Pavlova vas and Malkovec, then descend into the valley to Tržišče and further on towards Sevnica. In Boštanj, the ride will turn towards Radeče, then continue through Hotemež, Šentjanž, Krmelj, Gabrijele, and Trebnje towards Pluska, Dobrnič, and Žužemberk.
From Žužemberk, the ride will continue towards Stavča vas, Jama, and Dvor, then through Soteska towards the Bela krajina region. On the return towards Novo mesto, the route will pass the Dolž area, where participants will turn towards Veliki Orehek, where a gathering and meal will follow at the Community Hall of Veliki Orehek.
