Children’s World 2026
The Association for the Development of Voluntary Work Novo Mesto (Društvo za razvijanje prostovoljnega dela Novo mesto) once again invites children to join its popular summer programme, Children’s World, where they can develop their imagination through creative workshops, make unique crafts, discover a variety of artistic techniques, and make new friends. The workshops will take place from 1 to 24 July 2026, every weekday from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, in the courtyard of Gostišče na trgu (Glavni trg 30, Novo Mesto).
The programme is designed for children who enjoy being creative, exploring new ideas, and spending their summer mornings in a fun and friendly environment. Advance registration is required via otroski.svetdrpd@gmail.com. The participation fee is €2 per child per workshop.
This year’s programme offers a wide range of creative activities. During the first week, children will make a sewn fish, create a marionette, and take part in a fun space rocket challenge. The second week includes making a colourful parrot, a decorative lantern, sewing a little fox, crafting a paper ice cream cone, and creating a diving mask. In the third week, participants will build a city of skyscrapers, create an optical illusion animation, sew animal puppets to form a miniature zoo, make a woollen avocado, and design a necklace. The final week features a seashell summer keepsake, a refreshing summer-themed activity, a sewn turtle keyring, a spinning nature craft, and a fluffy bracelet to round off the programme.
The programme is supported by Krka, d. d., Novo mesto, the Municipality of Novo Mesto, and Grm Novo Mesto – Centre of Biotechnology and Tourism.
