Exhibition Opening: Jur Samec

KUD Krka invites visitors to the opening of an exhibition by Jur Samec, taking place on Tuesday, 22. 9. 2026, at 19.00 at Galerija Krka in Novo Mesto.

The exhibition presents Samec’s latest painting series, Urbana korita, in which the artist explores the relationship between nature and the urban environment. Using acrylic and collage techniques, he creates colourful urban landscapes in which plant motifs intertwine with the geometric structures of the city. His works raise questions about modern life, urbanisation and the relationship between people and nature, while offering an optimistic perspective and a sense of hope despite the dominance of concrete.

Jur Samec, born in Ljubljana in 1974, graduated from the Higher Vocational School of Drawing and Painting in Ljubljana. He has taken part in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Slovenia and abroad and has received several awards for his work. He works as a teacher at Žužemberk Primary School and lives and works in Ljubljana.

The exhibition will be on display until 6. 11. 2026.
