2nd Mountain Hour: Cammino Celeste – The Celestial Path
The Novo mesto Hiking Association invites you to the 2nd Mountain Hour of 2026, which will take place on Thursday, 22 January 2026, at 6.00 pm in the hall of OŠ Bršljin.
At this year’s second Mountain Hour, Andreja Grahek will take the audience on a journey along the Celestial Path (Cammino Celeste) in Italy, using words and images. This nearly 230 km long trail runs from Gorizia to Monte Santo di Lussari (Sv. Višarje). Along the way, hikers must overcome more than 6,000 metres of elevation gain, and due to trail conditions it is only feasible to walk it from June to September. The path begins in an urban environment but later becomes quite remote, passing through sparsely populated areas. A large part of the trail runs through regions still inhabited by Slovenes. Andreja Grahek hiked the path with friends in September 2024.
