3rd Mountaineering Hour: The Cave World
The Novo mesto Hiking Association invites you to the third Mountaineering Hour of 2026, taking place on Thursday, 5 February 2026, at 6.00 p.m., at Šmihel Primary School.
At this year’s third Mountaineering Hour, Damijan Šinigoj will take us into the depths of the cave world through words and images. Mountaineers are accustomed to heights, wide views and blue skies, yet we are often unaware that beneath our feet lies a world of darkness, which proves to be just as fascinating when illuminated by the beam of a headlamp. Damijan Šinigoj is a passionate caver and cave rescue specialist with several decades of experience in cave exploration. He is also the author of several books on various topics; his debut novel, They Kill Soldiers, Don’t They?, was written when he was twenty years old. He is a member of the Slovenian Writers’ Association and the Slovenian Literary Translators’ Association.
The event will be in the Slovenian language.
