Book Presentation: Zoran Predin – Cirkus Astralis
On the occasion of the Slovenian Cultural Holiday, the Miran Jarc Library Novo mesto warmly invites you to a presentation of the book Cirkus Astralis by Zoran Predin—singer, composer, lyricist, singer-songwriter and writer. The event will take place on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, at 6.00 pm in the Event Atrium.
Cirkus Astralis, following Mongolian Spots (2020) and The Immaculate (2023), is Predin’s third novel. The book constantly surprises the reader, encouraging them through its provocative and playful conjectures to search for their own interpretations. Written in Predin’s distinctive, flowing style—imbued with humour and ludic flashes—the novel sensitively explores the question of our relationship with others. At the same time, it is a novel about the process of literary creation, in which the characters brought to life by the author—like an ancient Greek demiurge—address the writer with pleas, suggestions, proposals and even blackmail.
The central thread of Zoran Predin’s novel is a Greek mythological idea: that a soul which drinks too little water from the river Lethe must endure punishment for the sins of a previous existence.
The presentation will be in the Slovenian language.
