Cooking Workshop: St. Gregory’s Birds and a Heart-Shaped Braid

The Trškogorsko srce Tourist and Cultural Association invites you to a cooking workshop where participants will bake St. Gregory’s birds and a heart-shaped braided pastry together.

The event will take place on Wednesday, 11 March 2026, at 5:00 pm at Zidanica Verček on Trška Gora.

St. Gregory’s Day is traditionally considered the time when, according to folk belief, “the birds get married,” and nature begins to awaken to spring. On this occasion, participants will learn how to prepare traditional baked treats typical of this time of year while enjoying pleasant company.

The workshop will offer a warm and friendly atmosphere, the aroma of freshly baked pastries, and a touch of springtime romance.
