Film: Kdor ne skače
The Janez Trdina Cultural Centre invites you to the screening of the film Kdor ne skače (He Who Doesn’t Jump) on Friday, 20 March 2026, at 7:00 pm.
The film explores how Slovenians began to perceive themselves as a nation through sport—first through skiing and ski jumping, and later also through football. Through the personal story of the director, who moved from Bosnia to Slovenia, it reveals how sporting successes became the foundation of national self-confidence, mostly as a contrast to the Yugoslav identity. Kdor ne skače is a film about the rises and falls of national consciousness, the power and danger of collective emotions, and the question: what does it mean to be Slovenian today, and can sport still carry this burden?
