Guided Tour: The Wine Story of Novo mesto

As part of the accompanying programme of the Cviček Festival 2026, the Novo mesto Tourist Information Centre (TIC Novo mesto) invites you to a free guided tour of Novo mesto’s town centre, dedicated to the rich wine-growing tradition of the area.

The tour, led by a local tourist guide, will take place on Saturday, 23 May 2026, at 2 pm. The meeting and finishing point will be at TIC Novo mesto on Glavni trg.

During the walk through the old town centre, participants will discover the historical connection between Novo mesto and viticulture, the importance of the vineyard areas on the surrounding hills – especially Trška gora – and the development of wine culture, which has shaped the life and identity of the town throughout the centuries.

The guided tour offers an engaging insight into the wine tradition of the Dolenjska region while also allowing visitors to experience the vibrant festival atmosphere.
