Local Heritage Festival Domfest
The Section for Local Heritage and Cultural Heritage at the Association of Slovenian Library Societies, together with Mirana Jarca Library Novo mesto, invite you to the 9th Local Heritage Festival – Domfest, which will take place on Thursday, 22 October 2026, at 9:00 am in the Event Atrium.
This year’s theme will focus on literary estates and collections in libraries and other cultural institutions, representing significant written cultural heritage both at the national level and within local communities. The festival aims to explore literary estates from various perspectives: presenting the authors represented in these collections, the criteria and methods for including estates in library holdings, the conditions for their preservation and protection, accessibility and usefulness for different target groups, opportunities for connecting them with local tourism, as well as their promotion, especially among young people.
The event will also feature the presentation of the Goropevšek Awards for outstanding achievements in the field of local heritage and cultural heritage, recognizing contributions of broader social importance that advance local heritage activities in libraries.
