On the Edge of Summer: Irena Štaudohar
Miran Jarc Library Novo Mesto invites you to On the Edge of Summer: Irena Štaudohar, taking place on Thursday, 11 June 2026, at 7.00 pm in the Growing Book Park in Novo Mesto.
Spend an evening in the company of Novo Mesto-born Irena Štaudohar, who has recently published her fourth book. Five years after her acclaimed work What Does a Woman Want?, the journalist, dramaturge and essayist returns with Deep in the Forest: On the Wild and the Intimate, a masterful exploration of nature and art, as well as mysticism and magic.
The book is a moving journey into the space between nature and the human soul. At once an intimate autobiography and a cultural history of the wilderness, it reminds us, in an increasingly rationalised world, of our primordial connection with nature and of the mysterious anima that resides within every living being.
The conversation will be moderated by Carmen L. Oven.
Visitors are warmly invited to the tranquil setting of the Growing Book Park beside the library.
