Valentine’s Hike
Marathon Novo mesto Association invites you to take part in the Valentine’s Hike, which will take place on Saturday, 21st February 2026.
START?
At 9:00 a.m. in front of the fire station in Zbure. Participant registration will be open from 8:00 a.m. onwards.
PARKING?
Parking will be organised with the assistance of the Zbure Volunteer Fire Brigade (PGD Zbure), who will direct participants in the morning. Coffee, tea, and other hot drinks will be available in the fire station (or at Pavle’s Inn), so please arrive in good time.
DISTANCE?
The hike is 19 km long with a total elevation gain of 600 m. The route follows paved roads with normal traffic; participants must observe all road traffic regulations.
ROUTE?
The hike runs through the vineyard hills of Trščina and Malkovec, across Zagradska Gora and Velike Poljane, and back to Zbure, returning to the starting point. Two official refreshment stops will be organised (Trščina – 6 km and Otavnik – 12 km). A stop is also planned at the Deu Wine Courtyard in Malkovec at the 8 km mark (bring your own food; the inn will be open).
Mandatory equipment: your own cup or mug.
ENTRY FEE?
Upon registration (recommended contribution of €15), each participant will receive a meal voucher valid at the finish (fire station in Zbure) until 3:00 p.m., refreshments/drinks at the two official stops, and a heart-shaped keepsake as a souvenir gift.
The hike is guided and accompanied by the organiser, who will keep to the schedule to ensure a return to Zbure by no later than 2:30 p.m. Participants who prefer to walk at their own pace can follow route markings from the Deu Wine Courtyard onwards. To receive the meal at the finish, participants must return to the starting point by 2:30 p.m.
