World Logging Championship 2026: Parade of National Teams and Opening Ceremony at the Main Square
Dolenjska will host the 36th World Logging Championship 2026 (WLC 2026) in March 2026, the largest and most prestigious international competition in forestry skills, which will be held in Slovenia for the first time in history.
The official opening ceremony of the championship, including the parade of national teams, will take place on Thursday, 12 March 2026, at 6:00 pm at the Main Square in Novo Mesto. The competition programme will run from 13 to 15 March 2026 at the Šentjernej Hippodrome (at the same time as the Gregorjevo Fair). Admission to all competitions is free.
A total of 114 competitors from 24 countries will take part in the championship. In addition to the highly engaging forestry skills competitions, the event will highlight the importance of knowledge, safety in forest work, and sustainable forest management.
You are warmly invited to attend the opening ceremony and the parade of national teams, who will walk across the Kandija Bridge to the Main Square, accompanied by majorettes and a brass band.
