Last weekend, Novo mesto presented itself for the third consecutive year at the Camping&Outdoor fair in Zagreb. Within the Dolenjska destination, the promotion of Novo mesto—particularly its outdoor activities and experiences—was carried out by the Novo mesto Tourist Information Centre (TIC) in cooperation with cycling guides and local providers. Visitors showed strong interest in active leisure opportunities, especially cycling and hiking routes, as well as nature-based experiences.
The Camping&Outdoor fair in Zagreb is a specialised event focused on the increasingly popular segment of camping, caravanning, and outdoor activities. It showcases campsites, glamping offers, outdoor equipment, and a wide range of nature experiences such as hiking, cycling, and water sports. The fair appeals both to industry professionals and to individuals seeking ideas for holidays or new ways of travelling.
This year marked the fourth edition of the fair, which was held in conjunction with Croatia’s largest tourism fair, Place2go, at the Zagreb Fair. This created a larger and more content-rich event, combining general tourism offerings with the growing outdoor and camping tourism segment. Such integration reflects contemporary tourism trends, where traditional forms of travel are increasingly intertwined with active, sustainable, and experience-driven holidays.

It is worth highlighting that visitors were particularly interested in camping accommodation and opportunities for staying in nature, as well as in larger and well-known events in Novo mesto, which add vibrancy and appeal to the destination throughout the year.
Participation in the fair represents an important opportunity to strengthen Novo mesto’s visibility in the Croatian and wider regional market, as well as to establish new business connections.
