On 2 March 2026, the Ministry of the Economy, Tourism and Sport published a public call for proposals to encourage the introduction of environmental and sustainability labels for providers in the hospitality and tourism sector. The call offers co-financing of the costs of obtaining and renewing internationally recognised environmental or sustainability labels, with the aim of supporting providers in their transition to sustainable operations and their entry into the Green Scheme of Slovenian Tourism.
A total of €200,000 in funding is available, divided into two strands:
- Co-financing of the costs of obtaining an international environmental or sustainability label;
- Co-financing of the costs of renewing a label that has already been obtained.
Under the first strand, financial support of up to €3,500 per individual label is available. Under the second strand, up to €1,000 is available for the renewal of a label already obtained by the provider.
The call is intended for providers in the hospitality and tourism sector, including accommodation establishments, food and beverage outlets, travel agencies and attractions, as well as mountain and congress centres registered to operate in the fields of tourism and hospitality.
Applications must be submitted electronically no later than 15 June 2026 to gp.mgts@gov.si.
