The Institute for Sport, Culture, Tourism and Youth Novo mesto (Zavod Novo mesto) has published a public call for tenders for the lease of boat rental operations at the City Beach, one of the most popular summer destinations along the Krka River in Novo mesto.
Located on the right bank of the Krka River below the Portoval Sports Park, the City Beach offers visitors a wide range of water-based experiences as part of the tourist product Paddling along the Krka. Visitors can rent SUP boards, canoes and a wooden boat, enjoy a relaxing cruise along the Krka River, go swimming, or take in the riverside atmosphere and hospitality offer at Bar Plaža. The location is approximately a 10-minute walk from the town centre and also offers nearby parking facilities, a motorhome stopover area, and additional food and beverage options.
Boating activities on the Krka River represent one of Novo mesto’s most recognisable summer experiences, offering visitors a unique perspective of the town from the river. Together with local providers, Zavod Novo mesto helps to create a diverse and experience-rich tourism offer for Novo mesto.
Through this public call for tenders, Zavod Novo mesto is seeking an operator to manage the boat rental service for the 2026 summer season.
The subject of the lease includes:
• use of the area at the City Beach in Novo mesto (plot no. 1381/7, cadastral municipality 1484 Šmihel pri Novem mestu);
• use of the existing equipment (boats and related equipment);
• the right to operate a boat rental business at this location.
