Begin in front of the Cultural Center in Straža and continue toward Soteska. After about 500 meters, turn off the main road and climb the Straža hill behind the silo. A roughly 500-meter climb follows, with gradients up to 10%. A pleasant forest descent comes next, including the only gravel section of the route, about 100 meters long—easily manageable on a road bike.
When you reach the main road, simply cross it and descend past the Mali Raj nudist camp. At the crossroads, turn left and cross the Krka River. The road gently climbs for a little over a kilometer, up to the junction with the main road, where you turn left and continue past the Dolenjske Toplice primary school toward the traffic-light intersection. Here continue straight toward Uršna Sela, passing through Dolenje Sušice, Gorenje Sušice, and Dobindol.
At the Community Center in Uršna Sela, turn left beneath Ljubenska gora. After 2.5 km, just before Birčna vas and the railway crossing, turn left toward Veliki Podljuben. A beautiful descent then leads through Petane, Mali Podljuben and Vrh pri Ljubnu to Loka. Before the main road, turn sharply right onto the cycling path leading to Srebrniče cemetery. Continue along the cycling path all the way to the hospital complex.
After about 100 meters turn left across Julija’s footbridge and continue through the Loka sports park. The path gently rises past the post office and brings you across Novi trg. By the sculpture, turn right and pass the Anton Podbevšek Theatre, then continue past the Novo mesto market straight onto the Main Square. From there, continue toward the Šmihel Bridge by the Janez Trdina Cultural Center.
At the bridge, cross it and at the traffic lights turn right, passing the stadium, to the intersection in Irča vas. Turn right again and cross the Krka via the Štukelj footbridge. On the far side turn right and follow the multi-use path leading across the railway to the Novo mesto barracks. Turn left toward the roundabout by Adria Mobil and take the third exit toward the Olympic Center, then continue toward Češča vas and Zalog.
In Zalog, join the cycling path that leads back to Straža, finishing the ride at the starting point by the Cultural Center.
