The starting point of the route is the parking area in front of the Cultural Center in Straža. From here, descend across the railway crossing in the town center, where the asphalt soon turns into a well-maintained gravel road right by the Krka River. The route leads past an industrial zone, where the strong wood-processing tradition of the area is still very much alive. With the pleasant scent of wood in the air, you can often spot grey herons, swans, ducks, and other rich river wildlife.
After passing a small industrial zone, the route moves briefly away from the Krka, though the river remains in view all the way to the village of Loke. After a short asphalt section at the crossroads, turn left and continue straight to the railway crossing, where the company Bravia Mobil greets you. From here, continue through a smaller industrial area and back onto gravel. The road widens as you reach the Prečna airfield—past the runway and hangars, where with a bit of luck you may catch a takeoff or landing.
Beyond the airfield, the first moderate climb begins toward Brezova Reber. The surface alternates between asphalt and gravel, and at the crossroads follow the sign for Frata. The gravel becomes somewhat rougher here, and gradients can reach double digits. After roughly three kilometers you arrive at the lodge on Frata—once a mountain hut, today a pleasant forest restaurant ideal for a break.
From Frata, the road continues to climb for a while. At the top, in Dolnji Ajdovec, turn right and enjoy a fast descent to Boršt near Dvor. Here the scenery opens into beautiful wine country with views of the Dolenjska hills and, in clear weather, even the Alps. A climb toward Plešivica follows. In Veliki Lipovec keep right and continue on gravel into the forest. At a clearing, turn right into a second, more demanding climb, with the final hundred meters being quite steep. At the top a short descent brings you to the Plešivica airstrip, offering wonderful views of the Krka Valley with Žužemberk, Dvor, and the surrounding villages.
From the airstrip, return to the clearing by the same route, but this time turn toward Soteska. A very steep and technically demanding descent past the quarry follows, requiring caution. Upon reaching the valley, briefly join the main road and take a look at Soteska Castle and the Devil’s Tower. After crossing the Krka and passing the sawmill, turn left into the forest, where a pleasant singletrack leads to Meniška vas.
In Meniška vas follow the gravel road past the Menišan bar. Deer are often seen grazing in the nearby pastures. Continue toward Dolenje Polje. There, cross the Krka for the final time and climb the hill behind the silos of Straža. After a short gravel stretch, descend through the settlement back to the starting point at the Cultural Center in Straža.
