Šmarjeta Bicycle Trail

Start in the Old Town and ride through the wooded area Ragov log, past the village of Krka and onwards on forest paths along the Krka all the way to Otočec Castle, the only river castle in Slovenia. Cross the Krka River here and leave its bank a little further on, then ride towards the wine-growing area of Bela Cerkev, where you will have a bit of climbing to do. Afterwards, you descend in the direction of Šmarješke Toplice Thermal Spa, where the path turns around towards the starting point and takes you across the Krka back to Novo mesto and through the beautiful Kette Avenue to the town centre.
