Through the Woods to Trdinov Vrh

Starting in the centre of Novo mesto, the trail then leads through Žabja vas, where you leave the paved roads of the town and head into the woods. Follow the trail markings to the village of Šentjošt, where you can see the monument to the victims of the World War II, then continue along the Klamfer stream past Hrib pri Orehku. At Hrušica, turn right towards Pangrč Grm, then turn left for the village of Gabrje. This is where the climbing begins, either through Jugorje all the way to Krvavi kamen, or from Šumeči potok to the mountain hut near Gospodična, and then onwards to Trdinov vrh. With an elevation of 1178 m, this is the highest peak in the Novo mesto Municipality. All that is left to do now is to go back down the hill and return to Novo mesto the same way you came up.
