Krka River Clean-up – EKO 2026
The Novo Mesto Underwater Activities Club is once again organising its traditional Krka River clean-up, taking place for the 33rd time this year. The event, called EKO 2026 – Divers for a Clean Krka, will take place on Saturday, 5 September 2026, at 11 am in the area of Loka and the Kandija Bridge in Novo Mesto.
The clean-up will be attended by members of the club, divers from other diving clubs, as well as invited fishermen and members of the rafting club, who traditionally take part in the event. The event is supported by the Municipality of Novo Mesto and is held under the auspices of the Slovenian Diving Federation.
Depending on the number of registered divers, the clean-up of the Krka River will take place at two or three locations in Novo Mesto.
Programme
- 10 am – Arrival of invited participants and gathering in front of the club premises near Julija’s Footbridge, Župančičevo sprehajališče 1, Novo Mesto
- 10–10.15 am – Opening of the event and briefing on the programme
- 11 am–1 pm – Diving and cleaning the riverbed of the Krka River
- 1.30 pm – End of the event
Parking will be available on the opposite bank, as access to the club premises will be closed due to construction works.
