Lecture: A Comprehensive Approach to Dementia Care in the Local Community
Together with Spominčica Alzheimer Slovenia and Spominčica of Dolenjska and Novo Mesto, we invite you to a lecture by Dr Božidar Voljč, MD, on the topic of a comprehensive approach to dementia care in the local community. The lecture will take place at the Miran Jarc Library in Novo Mesto on Wednesday, 18 February 2026, at 1.00 pm.
Dr Božidar Voljč will speak about the challenges of an ageing society and the increasing prevalence of dementia, which represents a major social and socio-healthcare challenge for municipal leaders, public institutions, organisations and families. You will learn what a comprehensive approach to dementia care is, its purpose and objectives, and how to develop integrated care for people living with dementia at the municipal level and through regional partnerships. In particular, he will explain what needs to be included in comprehensive care if we are to speak of a dementia-friendly local environment. The lecture will also address where individual municipalities, institutions and organisations currently stand in tackling this issue.
