Open Evening at the Novo mesto Caving Club
The Novo mesto Caving Club is organising an open evening on Friday, 20 February 2026, at the GRC premises (Seidlova cesta 29, 8000 Novo mesto).
The event will begin at 5 pm, when visitors will be able to tour the club’s facilities, including the club’s cave registry and equipment storage. You will have the opportunity to view both the electronic and paper archives documenting caves in the Dolenjska, Bela krajina and Posavje regions. Personal and group equipment used by cavers for exploring and researching the karst underground will also be on display.
In the GRC tower, a climbing route will be set up where you can try caving rope techniques, including ascending and descending on a rope.
To help visitors overcome any claustrophobia, a speleobox will be installed in front of the tower, allowing you to experience moving through narrow passages and meanders.
From 6 pm onwards, our expeditions and research activities will be presented in the GRC classroom through films and lectures.
No prior registration is required. Admission is free.
