Sports Town

Sportno Mesto is designed for all lovers of outdoor sports and recreation. Participants will have the opportunity to explore a variety of sports equipment, materials, and activities offered by different providers. With its rich supporting program, the event is aimed not only at young people but also at the young at heart.

On Saturday, 11 April 2026, the Olympic Center Novo mesto will come alive with sports as part of this year’s Festival of Sports and Recreation – Sportno Mesto 2026, featuring the city’s traditional events: the 4th Bike Day and the 12th Rudolfovanje.

Bike Day 2026 will include 10 cycling activities for enthusiasts of all ages, from road cycling and mountain biking to gravel riding, a children’s cycling trip, tube replacement competitions, beginner cycling lessons, and a mini MTB school. Rudolfovanje will feature hiking and cycling along the Rudolf Route.

Athletic Club Krka Novo mesto will host mini cross-country and shot-put competitions for all generations. Youth Center Oton will organize the “Štrbunk” competition and a Wheel of Fortune. Equestrian centers will open their doors for demonstrations, while the Red Cross Novo mesto will present basic life-saving procedures. Triathlon Club Novo mesto and Swimming Club Novo mesto will offer swimming sessions for preschoolers, first graders, and their parents. Rowing Club Novo mesto will demonstrate rowing on ergometers and boats. The Slovenian Paralympic Committee will showcase wheelchair basketball, archery, and a course for the visually impaired. Inflatable playgrounds will be available, and Zavod Čebela will offer mini roller-skating lessons. Rod Gorjanskih Tabornikov will demonstrate scouting skills, knot-tying, and navigation, while Društvo NATURO will provide fun games for everyone. Prevent – Center for Sports and Rehabilitation will demonstrate proper exercise techniques. Cycling experts will be on hand to help with bike adjustments.

As part of the festival, a roundtable discussion will take place during the 2nd Meeting of Slovenia’s Mountain Bike Guides, focusing on outdoor activities in Novo mesto.
