On the Edge of Summer: Neža Prah Seničar and Urška Henigman
The Miran Jarc Library Novo mesto invites visitors to an event from its On the Edge of Summer series, taking place on Thursday, 18 June 2026, at 7:00 PM in the Growing Book Park (Park rastoče knjige) in Novo mesto.
Neža Prah Seničar and Urška Henigman are engaging journalists and co-authors of Prvič (First Time), a multimedia project for young people. Their popular programme, which explores all aspects of teenage life openly and without prejudice, has now been transformed into a book designed to support every family navigating the challenges of puberty. The discussion will be moderated by Carmen L. Oven.
Their book Hormones and Demons serves as a bridge between teenagers and their parents. Drawing on the experiences of well-known Slovenians as well as young adults who have recently emerged from adolescence, the authors address the topics that most commonly shape—and often complicate—the teenage years, including subjects that many still consider taboo. In an approachable, engaging and uncensored manner, they explore themes such as self-image and the influence of social media, relationships, first love, sexuality, harassment, mental health, emotional struggles and loneliness, social and academic pressures, identity, and growing up in the modern world.
The event will be held in Slovenian.
