With the beginning of April, Zavod Novo Mesto has officially launched this year’s e-bike rental season. Like last year, the fleet features front-suspension mountain bikes eCult Octane 112, renowned for their high-quality craftsmanship and innovative design, developed by several Slovenian companies, as well as powerful motors, making them perfect for tackling the rolling hills and vineyard-covered slopes surrounding Novo Mesto.
The Dolenjska region offers thousands of kilometres of cycling routes, from dusty country tracks and forest trails to scenic paths past medieval castles and across vineyard-studded hills dotted with traditional wine cottages. This diverse landscape makes it especially appealing for gravel and mountain biking enthusiasts. Meanwhile, the gentler terrain along the Krka River valley provides a more relaxed experience, ideal for families and recreational cyclist. Visitors can also enjoy a wide range of cyclist-friendly accommodations – from hotels to vineyard cottages and farm stays – where local culinary specialities await.

E-bikes are available for pickup at two locations:
- TIC Novo Mesto on Glavni Trg – an ideal starting point for exploring the town and its surroundings.
- The Trška Gora Entry Point (Sevno, Novo Mesto), from where riders can easily ascend to the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary at the summit or visit nearby vineyard cottages.
Cyclists can set out independently and explore the region at their own pace, or join a guided tour led by experienced local cycling guides who know every corner of Dolenjska.
